Julien MacDonald was really and truly a spectacular show. There was enough glitter to rival fairies and enough edge to keep the collection firmly current. I particularly loved the array of sequinned, feathered and cut-out dresses, all under the roof of One Mayfair (a venue that looked somewhat like a church to me). It is always interesting to try and guess how the designer/creative director came up with the running theme for their shows.
Apart from being on trend for the coming season, it’s really cool to see grand statements being made and in this case, it would be the model who closed the runway after having a liquid glitter bath. As much as i loved the two little kids by her sides, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Certainly a one-of-a-kind fashion show and collection. I can already see celebrities donning these dresses on the red carpet. Definitely party wear goals!
