This season, Ferragamo’s use of punchy colour combinations (fuchsia, black, red set against magenta, white and mustard) really brought life to the undulating levels of knitted ruffles. That as well as well as the contrast between the pink pom-pom and the hard gold zips was a lot to digest, albeit in a very good way.
The catwalk also being somewhat of a rainbow extravaganza, (which I believe was a nod to the fashion houses’ famous rainbow-wedged shoe) most definitely brought life to Milan Fashion Week this season. My favourite piece had to be the black culottes embellished with gold zips. I can just imagine wearing to work or to a meeting or just somewhere pretty chic and sophisticated. A girl can dream.
According to Vogue, the best pieces were the simplest. “A spaghetti-strapped silk dress with a plissé skirt in baby pink, mustard and black looked a hard-working occasion dress ripe for investment; a black tabard worn over a plissé white skirt and patterned boots ticked the oft neglected chic office wear box.”
