The MET Ball is probably the biggest and most stylish events on the fashion industry’s calendar, which is held in New York and was hosted this year by the amazing Anna Wintour. I have decided to put together a few of my favourite dresses, which I felt covered the Punk: Chaos to Couture theme extremely well.
Anne Hathaway’s bleach blonde short hair looks so gorgeous! I never imagined that she would suit being a blonde and a bleached blonde at that! I love the cuts between her gown, the see through effect on the embellished black is absolutely gorgeous. This Valentino sheer dress is simple with a little edge and glamour.
I’m sure you all know that I am a HUGE fan of heavily embellished garments such as the one Katy Perry is wearing. If you don’t know, take a look here and here. If only I could get my hands on that crown to add to my collection of beads, sequins and gems! When the D&G A/W 13 models walked down the runway in Milan, they took my breath away, see here. Katy is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana dress and crown.
We all know yellow is my favourite colour, so Ashley Olsen was bound to feature in my collection of favourite MET ball attires! There’s not much to say really, it suits her, it’s embellished and it’s yellow! Ashley Olsen is wearing a Vintage Dior Couture gown and Manolo Blahnik heels.
I’m not the biggest Kristen Stewart fan, but that’s simply because I’m not a fan of infidelity and we all know what she did… Moving on swiftly, her attire is quite lovely. I am generally impressed when someone wears trousers, or shorts to an event such as this, where everyone expects ball gowns and dresses. Not for K Stew! She is wearing a Stella Mc Cartney jumpsuit.
There are simply no words to describe Nicole Richie’s outfit. The hair, the TOPSHOP white column dress and the lack of accessories all come together beautifully. She does Chaos to Couture very well!
SJP, has done it again. I personally feel that she is Carrie Bradshaw and Sarah Jessica Parker all wrapped up in one because what I see in the films and what she wears in real life capture the same amazing fashion sense. See her here at Alexander Mc Queens funeral looking stunning as ever! She rocks the Punk: Chaos to Couture theme very well! I for one think that dress is chaotic, yet beautiful. All those prints on one body… lush!
SJP is wearing a Giles Deacon ball gown, Philip Treacy Mohican head piece and tartan over the knee boots.
Rooney Mara is in a custom made Givenchy Couture gown.
I love the simplicity and edginess of this dress and her aubergine coloured lips go very well with the washed out dress. If you want that lip shade and you have a darker skin tone (like me) you can check it out here first, and if you still love it, you can purchase it here.
The Marchesa design duo: Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are both dressed in gowns from their label. I love the contrast between the two dresses side by side. The white feathers and the spiked Louboutins go very well together and in combination with the slightly embellished black gown, its very aesthetically pleasing.
Madonna is like the queen of punk, of rock, and anything else she can be the queen of, she will be the queen of that! She is wearing a belted blazer by Givenchy Couture:Ricardo Tisci, stockings and Casadei hot pink heels. Her outfits just screams ‘punk rocker for life’.
